just returned from oahu with a new recipe. it’s simple and easy and most importantly – super yummy. i got the idea from shopping at the poke deli in don quixote, a japanese supermarket on the island. there’s no measuring, just season to taste.
all you need is:
edamame in pod (young soy beans) fresh or frozen
shoyu (soy sauce)
sesame oil
chili flakes
chili powder
scallions (finely chopped)
sugar
cook edamame. add enough shoyu to coat the beans. then drizzle sesame oil, about 1 table spoon. add scallions, chili flakes and powder to desired spicyness. finally, add a sprinkle or two of sugar and mix together.
tada! you now have yummy edamame poke to snack on.
